The famine in East Africa!

SOS by famine in Africa!

The worst drought of last 60 years is destroying to Somalia, Etopía, Kenya and Djibouti. It does not rain from April and the cattle and the crops have got lost. In Somalia, some basic food has raised 270 % in the last year, for that, families just can eat once in a day.  And the country sinks in a serious food crisis.
The crisis in the country affects principally the children; and more than 500 minors run risk of death. For that reason, the refugees' daily divide for Etíopía and Kenya and there are approximately 1.300 people.
This happen because, in the way,  women have been obliged to continue up to the refugees' camps, leaving his children who cannot continue.
We are worried for the kid’s conditions, they are weaker people. They have 40 % of surviving.
Then, they will depend exclusively on the humanitarian help that provides them, under risk of dying during this time
Another problem that these countries have, besides the food lack, is a poor   infrastructure.

Very Sorry :(

Our Lady of Chiquinquirá!!

She is the patron saint of  the state Zulia- Venezuela!

This fair has a big religious significance to us, because I think there is no Maracaibo citizen that doesn´t believe in Chiquinquira, everybody says that she does miracles, and thats very true.

Every November 18, the city celebrates the traditional Feast of La Chinita with masses and processions in honor of the Virgin.

Some people have their own celebration, they have parties or dinners with their family and friends, and that is their way to venerate the Chiquinquira Virgin.

The last two days of the Chinita’s fair are the most special ones. It is during these days when all the great parties around the city are held.

According to the tradition, the Chinita reached Maracaibo through the waves of our lake. The story goes like this: one simple day in 1749, a humble woman washing clothes on the shores of Lake Maracaibo, suddenly saw a thin wooden board floating near her, which she picked up thinking it might be useful to cover the jar of water that was in the hallway of her house. The next morning, when she was straining the coffee, she heard a knock as if someone was calling. She went to see what was happening and was overwhelmed with astonishment to see that wooden board was shining and appearing on it, the image of Our Lady of Chiquinquirá. For this reason, the woman began to cry miracle!Miracle!, So hence comes the name of the current Miracle on Lake Avenue, where the washer lived. After what happened, many people came to witness this miracle, and so the home of the humble woman turned into a place of veneration for many believers

Lights along the whole avenue.

“Square of Our Lady of the Rosary of Chiquinquirá”

The month of November is of special significance for the people of Zulia, It is for this reason that during these days, the GAITA sounds with particular frenzy and joy. This video is of ALISIA which interprets the song HABLAME DE MARACAIBO.

HABLAME DE MARACAIBO, ALITASIA
VERSO I

VERSO III
